Todd W. Gaffaney, Ph.D., was a full-time professor of clinical psychology at Cerritos College for 44 years (now emeritus) and is currently an adjunct faculty member at the Pepperdine Graduate School in Psychology. He fell in love with psychotherapy as a psychological intern during the Vietnam War. There was death everywhere but also purpose and meaning.
Gaffaney has co-authored two self-help/professional books on intimate relationships. The latest is Need Management Therapy: A New Science of Love, Intimacy, and Relationships, published in 2021 by Simon & Schuster/Archway Publishing. He is also a keynote motivational speaker on the topics of the science of love and intimacy, war/combat psychology, and the psychology of change, at local and national conferences. And he is a certified trainer and coach on building and sustaining caring relationships in private practice at the Cerritos Psychological Center.
